  • Jungkook really did end up waiting until the end of your shift. You were in the back, Jungkook leaning against the wall. When you told your boss the situation, he allowed you to stay a bit later to finish the tattoo. After all, it was extra money, not much noise, and your boss had to stay late anyway. So it was a win all around. Now all that was left was giving Jeon Jungkook a tattoo. Holy *.
  • The man had his head tilted up, his eyes glimmering in the fluorescent lighting in the room. The back room was nothing special, more of a storage room than anything else, but Jungkook insisted on the privacy. Taehyung and Jimin left way earlier, Jungkook promising he'd text them. You didn't get to say hi as they were busy, but it was nice to at least see them (despite Taehyung not knowing who you were).
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"Alright, I think I'm ready now."
  • You
    You
"If you say anything about it going on your ass, I'll be disappointed. I'd definitely do it, but I'd still be disappointed."
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"Am I hearing that Miss L/n wants to see my ass?"
  • You
    You
"Well, to be fair to myself, you do have a nice ass. And don't let that get to your head."
  • You whirred the tattoo gun. You weren't used to the feeling of the weight in your hands, hence why you were still in training. Regardless, you needed something to get you money. At least a little something.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"I won't let it go to my head, I promise. How'd you get this job, anyway?"
  • You
    You
    "I love art."
  • You made sure your gloves were secure before going over. He rolled up his sleeve, revealing many more of his tattoos. He pointed to one of the blank spots, and you sat behind him, picturing it in your mind. You already drew out the rather-simple design he desired, and he loved it. Now you had to mimic it onto his skin. Your phone was on your thigh, the design open on that (you took a picture), so you were as ready as him.
  • You
    You
"I figured I'd get a job that had to do with it. And this isn't a big secret or anything, you can tell people if you really want to."
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"That's pretty badass that I know an edgy tattoo worker."
  • You
    You
"Tattoo worker. Alright. I've been reduced to a worker, not an artist."
  • He chuckled, brushing some strands of your hair out of your face. Jungkook grinned.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"There. Now the art is showing."
  • The urge to blush hit hard, but you were able to hide it and instead snort.
  • You
    You
"Haha. I'm laughing so hard. Now hold still, you know the drill, this will pinch a little."
  • When he didn't reply, you took it as a sign to keep going, pressing the needles onto his skin. The hiss commenced, the sound cloaking your ears. Despite working on a tattoo, you could still sense Jungkook's gaze on you. Only halfway in, you halted, glancing up at him.
  • You
    You
    "What?"
  • He didn't move to answer.
  • You
    You
    "Alright, you're weird."
  • You went back to work, and the rest of it was silent. Because the tattoo was so small and easy to draw, it didn't take long. Thank the lord for Jungkook choosing something easy. The more surprising part was the silence. Jungkook never shut up, so why was he now? It made no sense to you, but you were in no position to complain. Working in silence was fine with you.
  • The gun shut off, and only around 20-30 minutes had passed since you started. You smiled, giving him a chance to look at it as you cleaned up, grabbing the wrap you would need to protect the ink. There was still not a peep out of Jungkook. Again, you didn't speak. He was being beyond weird now. It was a little concerning. Maybe even creepy. You trusted Jungkook enough to be alone with him, but not enough to say follow him into his apartment or his car. But now you were getting a bit freaked out. What was going on with him?
  • You placed all your stuff down in your corner of the room, taking off your gloves. The next step you took turned your body around, and you gasped upon seeing Jungkook there. And not only was he there, but he was in your personal space, his eyes boring into yours.
  • You
    You
    "Jungkook-"
  • He cut you off by placing his hands on your hips, pulling you up against his chest. Your eyes expanded as your body met his build, you peering up at him. You weren't sure if you should be *ed or delighted. The answer you came up with was a mixture of both, your heart speeding up from the proximity.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
    "You're so beautiful."
  • When he saw your stare, he backed up, sighing.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
    "Sorry, I just... *."
  • You went closer, taking his hand despite yourself. No. No, abort Y/n, abort. This man was close to dating your best friend not long ago. You should at least talk to her about it first, don't be a *ty friend. Your mind was screaming at you, and you listened for the most part. Kissing him or doing anything romantic was out of the picture, but, you craved a bit of closeness. Partly because you hadn't felt this type of closeness in a while. With that in mind, you stepped a bit closer.
  • You
    You
    "You're beautiful too."
  • He lit up at your words. Before he could move closer, you placed a finger on his chest to stop him.
  • You
    You
"But... we need to wrap your tattoo."
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
    "Buzzkill."
  • You
    You
"Hey, I don't want my hard work to go to waste."
  • You gave him a wink, him sitting back down and letting you grab the wrap and cover his ink. You stared at it, gazing at the pattern.
  • You
    You
    "Why a ghost?"
  • The tiny figure was etched on his skin, shining in the light. Jungkook frowned.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"I've been thinking recently. The mistakes I've made cost me good friendships, gave me a lot of regrets."
  • He paused, taking your hand.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"And I almost lost you and Hana. Two great people I shouldn't have ever taken for granted. I can't apologize enough for that."
  • He cut off, peeping down at the mark.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
"And I don't know, sometimes I think it'd be better if I was invisible."
  • You brushed some of his hair out of his face, mirroring what he did to you earlier.
  • You
    You
"You'll never be invisible to me, Jeon Jungkook."
  • You said it in a hushed voice, the melody of your words tickling his face. His face stayed neutral, but his eyes displayed the giddiness inside him.
  • You
    You
    "Let's get you home, yeah?"
  • He stood, you standing next to him. Jungkook offered his hand to you, and to your surprise, you took it without question.
  • Jungkook
    Jungkook
    "Let's go home."
